A Brother expresses his gratitude for the assistance he received from the Grand Almoner's Fund.

This blog post is part of a series for the Helping Hand Initiative highlighting the work of the Grand Almoner’s Fund.

Words of Thanks

The following thank you letter comes from a grateful Brother who, in his time of need, was assisted by the Scottish Rite Grand Almoner’s Fund. Every year this fund is able to help hundreds of Brothers who are facing their darkest hour, but no matter what life throws at them, they will always have millions of Brothers to help them catch it.

Dear Brothers,
I have been thinking of the words to describe how I feel about the assistance you have given me through the Grand Almoner’s Fund, but there are no words for how I am feeling. I am overwhelmed by the support you have given me, and the weight that you have lifted off my shoulders is monumental. I feel like I can sit down and take a breath. This fraternity of ours is one of the most amazing things I have ever been a part of and is one I will be a part of for the rest of my life.
I have watched the videos and have heard the stories of the people this Fund has helped, and now I can say that I know firsthand what it can do to help our Masonic family. I was not prepared for how much you gave me for relief. My wife was speechless, and we both became very emotional. God has truly blessed us with this fraternity and the great men within it.
Thank you so much for giving me my sense of dignity back. I feel like I can hold my head a bit higher knowing that things are being taken care of. My future is looking brighter with the help you have given.
I will shout it from the rooftops about the good work of our great fraternity and will always come to the aid of my Brethren, their families, widows and orphans without question and hesitation. We are so very lucky to have this Brotherhood in our lives. I will never forget this. You have all shown me what true Brotherhood is all about. God bless you and the Scottish Rite.
Sincerely and Fraternally,
A Grateful Brother
